The Lance Armstrong doping scandal is hitting his fans hard, especially his fellow sports superstars.

"It definitely makes me really sad because so many people look up to him," Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman told me this morning during a back to school shopping event at an Office Depot in West L.A. "It's heartbreaking that this has happened to him. He's accomplished so much. It's unreal how much he's done.

"Hopefully, people don't forget how much of an amazing person he is," she added. "He's done so much for different cancer patients."

In much more happier sports news, Raisman will appear at Fenway Park in Boston to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Red Sox game.

She admits she's not really nervous—but for good reason. "I just competed at the Olympics, so I think that's a little more pressure than that," she said. "I's not like there are judges there."

Good point.

Raisman will be back in Los Angeles on Sept. 6 when she and the rest of the Fierce Five will present at the MTV Video Music Awards.

"We all want to meet Justin Bieber because we all really like his music," she said. "Everyone thinks we have a crush on him, but we don't, because he's with Selena Gomez. We like them as a couple."
