While the activist-actress only turns 23 today, she sure has packed a lot into the past 22 years.
After a number of roles as a child star, Panettiere leaped onto the small screen (and into fanboys' hearts) as indestructible cheerleader Claire Bennett in Heroes. Later acting projects included starring in Lifetime's Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy and Scream 4.
She also made a name for herself as an ardent protester against dolphin fishing in Japan, visiting the country for both protests and discussion in 2007 and 2010.
But now Hayden can focus on some good ole fictional drama with the new ABC show, Nashville. Her character, Juliette Barnes, is described as "mean, manipulative and couldn't write her own songs to save her life." Maybe there will be some sweet country-cutie catfights?
