Nicki Minaj Cancels Shows in England Due to Strained Vocal Cords

Rapper Nicki Minaj "regretfully cancelled" shows at the V Festival in England this weekend. The singer's rep tells THR the reason for the no-show is "strained vocal cords."

The potential American Idol judge apparently pushed herself too far when she performed on the Today Show (and elsewhere) this week.

Her rep spelled it out: "Despite doctor's orders, she performed on a bruised vocal chord in [New York City] on August 14. As a result, the chord has gotten worse."

Nicki will sure need those vocal chords if she lands the gig as an American Idol judge, that's for sure!
