Mon dieu, Gérard Depardieu!

The French actor has been accused of adding injury to insult after allegedly crashing his scooter into another vehicle on the streets of Paris' sixth arrondissement on Wednesday, according to London's Telegraph newspaper.

Depardieu's fellow motorist filed an assault complaint with local police, claiming that, after running into his Smart car, the apparently irate 63-year-old Green Card star slugged him in the face and rode away.

"I was on my scooter, there was a car that wasn't paying attention and bang! There we are. It was more fear than actual harm," the reliably frank Depardieu told France's RTL radio after the incident.

"But," he admitted, "my reaction was perhaps a little over the top because I was very scared." Calling it "the price of fame," he added, "Some people just see me and file a complaint."

Coincidentally, would you believe that today marks the one-year anniversary of Depardieu's infamous in-flight urination debacle on an Air France plane?

We doubt Anderson Cooper is going to have the actor on his talk show to discuss what allegedly went down in Paris this week. Though he could still giggle about it.
