"Giving birth to my son, Brandon, has opened my mind to explore many new personal and professional opportunities," she said in a statement today. "I have no expectations about becoming a big 'movie star.' I just want to continue working in all areas of the entertainment business."
She said she wants to get into projects for children and interactive media, among other new directions. Lee is writing a book, Pamdemonium, billed as an autobiographical look at Hollywood.
Unmentioned in her statement, but perhaps also contributing to her restlessness, is the on-again (he says), off-again (she says) state of her marriage to rocker Tommy Lee. She filed for divorce last month after 21 months of marriage (and five months of motherhood).
Anderson, 29, leapt from obscurity in British Columbia to beer ads to Playboy to the "Tool Time Girl" on Home Improvement to the part of "C.J. Parker" on Baywatch in a few short years.
"Baywatch has been an incredible opportunity for me both personally and professionally," she said. "I will miss the cast and crew tremendously."
