Paranormal investigator Ryan Buell, the star of A&E's Paranormal State, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
The 30-year-old founder of Paranormal Research Society (PRS) has been opening up about his struggles with the disease on his Facebook page.
"Thank you all for your continued prayers and well-wishes. I won't lie, I have been in and out of the hospital all week," he posted. "There are days where I hardly have strength to move, but I sometimes hear chants in the back of my head; cheers, telling me to get up and rise. And that keeps me going every day! God bless you all!"
Today, a PRS staff member informed Buell's fans that he was hospitalized due to complications with his kidney and underwent a procedure. "Ryan was released yesterday morning from treatment. Things are looking positive after complications with his kidneys started a month ago and temporarily knocked him down. Ryan enjoyed some Wendy's (but keep that a secret) and reported back to work today."
Buell first posted about his illness in June, when he captioned a picture of himself holding a Captain America shirt with this message: "CANCER: Even the greatest of heroes have to take the fight within. Soldier on!"
Buell, who penned the 2010 memoir Paranormal State: My Journey Into the Unknown, founded Pennsylvania State University's Paranormal Research Society while attending the school.
