The 2012 London Olympics are on a history-making spree.

Day eight of the Olympics belonged to America's favorite swimmer, Michael Phelps, who swam for his final Olympic race in the medley relay and scored a history-making 18th gold medal. He topped off his Olympic medal collection at 22 medals total.

Also making history was tennis divaSerena Williams, who not only took home her first singles gold medal but also performed what may be the first ever Olympic crip walk after defeating Maria Sharapova.

Aside from the skiled moves, Serena's gold has her now being the second woman ever to complete a career Golden Slam—winning all four of tennis' Grand Slam title, plus an Olympic gold medal, as well as being the first player to achieve a Golden Slam in both singles and doubles. The dance was well deserved.

The U.S. men's basketball team had fans biting their nails a la our favorite royal Kate Middleton when falling behind Lithuania. However, three-time Olympian baller LeBron James held off the surging Lithuanians, scoring nine points in the final four minutes and leading the U.S. to a 99-94 win.

In track and field, Jamaica's Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won the 100 meter dash with a speedy 10.75 seconds, beating USA's Carmelita Jeter by only .03 seconds.

Fellow American Jamie Beyerle Gray took the gold in the women's 50 meter and also set two Olympic records in qualification and total points.

South African spinter Oscar Pistorius may have stolen the show though, being a double amputee with carbon-fiber artificial limbs, who advanced to tomorrow's semifinals in the 400 meters.
