Prince Harry Surprises Olympic Athletes, Declares Himself "Too Old" to Party

As if Prince Harry was going to let Kate Middleton and his brother Prince William corner the market as man- and woman-of-the-people.

Earlier today, the duke and duchess made waves (literally) from the cheap seats at Wimbledon, eschewing the royal box to sit in the stands as they cheered on Team GB's finest, Andy Murray, trounce his competition and advance to the tennis semifinals.

Well, now it's Harry's turn to make like Joe Public.

Much like the royal trio did yesterday when they paid a surprise visit to Olympic Village, Prince Harry today made athletes smile (and, a bit, swoon) in London today when he stopped by, unannounced, at Canada House and proceeded to greet the commonwealth athletes.

First up was Canadian rower Malcolm Howard, who went so far as to let the redheaded royal hold his silver medal, and slalom kayaker Michael Tayler, who had a few questions of his own for the prince. Specifically, he wanted to know the best late-night hangout place in London (hey, might as well go straight to the top, right).

Unfortunately for him, Harry demurred, dashing hopes that he still lived up his old reputation as a party prince.

"I don't go out anymore. I'm too old, I'm too old," he said.

Before leaving, Harry met with more athletes and their families, and accepted a token gift, a Canadian Olympic team jersey.

A bit later, Harry rejoined Will and Kate and they continued their three-person cheer offensive for Team GB's track and field runners. The duke and duchess adorably embraced (rare royal PDA alert!) in the stands and all three partook in yet another wave while cheering the British pursuit team on to win gold at the Velodrome.
