She may have been born with a silver spoon in her mouth, but the silver medal that now hangs around her neck is all her own doing.

Queen Elizabeth II's granddaughter Zara Phillips can now add Olympic medalist to her resume, as she took to the podium along with the rest of her Team GB equestrian team to celebrate their second-place finish in the Eventing Team Jumping competition.

And, as always, she had some pretty imposing support on her side, in the form of Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry, all of whom had once again turned out to cheer their cousin on to victory.

Zara and her teammates finished behind Germany and ahead of New Zealand. Along with the royal trio, her mother, Princess Anne; Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall; Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie; her brother, Peter Phillips; and her England rugby captain husband of one year (and one day, exactly) Mike Tindall were also on hand at Greenwich Park to witness her finish.

For the occasion, Kate recycled the same navy Smythe blazer she wore to yesterday morning's equestrian competition, pairing it with skinny jeans, her trusty LK Bennett wedges and a striped top. (And an umbrella. Welcome to summer in London.) Wills and Harry, meanwhile, swapped their navy Team GB polo shirts for a pair of white ones as they watched rapt from the stands, cheering wildly when Zara's placement was announced.

And of course there's a time and a place for a stiff upper lip, and medaling at your home country Olympic games isn't it.

After completing her jumps, the 31-year-old (14th in line to the throne, for those keeping track at home) and her horse, High Kingdom, took a fist-pumping victory lap around the ring.
