Holy crap.

We've seen the season-seven premiere of Dexter, and can we just say...wow. Dexter's new season is not messing around this time around, but before we go into any details (no spoilers!), we'll let Showtime boss David Nevins describe it with this simple phrase: "Everything changes."

"I think everything has gotten rewired this year in a very interesting way given that Deb has to deal with what her brother is," Nevin said during Showtime's TCA executive session. "Everything is different now. Every scene is fraught because you're wondering, 'What is she going to do? What does he think she's going to do? What does she think he's going to do?' I think it'll take both Deb and Dexter to unexpected places."

As for the current plan that Dexter will end with season eight, the Showtime exec insists that is still the plan, but it could change. "I think that's the likely scenario. But [I'm] not making any announcements today and plans can always change."

Other tidbits from the Showtime session:

How Many Seasons of Homeland? As many as they want! "[Renewal order is] a wide blue sky," he said with a smile. "I'm excited for season two, but I believe we are still in the upswing with Homeland. I think they've made some very bold choices this year. You're kind of [thinking], 'Holy s--t!' by the end of the third episode." Later on during the panel, Nevins commented that it's "always a possibility" that characters could be killed off the show. "Anybody could go at anytime."

Weeds Wrap Up: Nevins kept real tight-lipped on the end of Weeds, but he did offer up that there has always been a plan. "I've read the final script. I think it answers a lot of questions. It was very carefully planned towards," he promises.

The Future of Borgias: "The original plan was four seasons. We've greenlit season three. They're shooting right now; they're shooting the first two episodes," Nevins revealed. "That's still the likely thing, three plus one more. Haven't ordered season four, and who's to say after four we don't try and do more? The creators have a big say in that."
