Olympics Roundup: Michael Phelps' Redemption, Dana Vollmer Wins Big and Ryan Lochte's Grill

Another night of the summer games in London for the 2012 Olympics are underway, and already, there were many things that stood out.

Whether it be victories, disappointing losses, important faces in the crowd or some questionable fashion choices—we made sure to highlight some of the most memorable moments from today's games.

Lemme See Yo' Grill: After bringing home the gold yesterday, we realized that Ryan Lochte wasn't just sporting some precious metals around his neck, but his teeth, too! The swimming heartthrob showed off his studded grill, which was the design of the American flag. How patriotic of him!

Role Reversal: Last night, viewers—although very proud of Lochte for winning the gold—were stunned to see Michael Phelps finish without a medal during the 400 individual medley...but that all changed tonight. The duo seemed to have switched places during the 4x100-meter relay when Phelps helped maintain the lead for Lochte, who was the anchor, but fell short in the end. Team USA got the silver.

Presidential Hugs: Michelle Obama, a very involved audience member of the Olympics, gave a warm embrace to basketball players from Team USA today after they won their game against France, 98-71.

Stunna Shades: Speaking of shooting hoops, San Antonio Spurs player Tony Parker, who was also present on the court today for France showed off an interesting pair of protective eyewear. Although we don't want to discredit Parker's ability to make hipster goggles a trend, he was actually wearing them because of the injury he suffered from the Chris Brown and Drake club brawl.

Breakout Star: Raise the roof for Dana Vollmer! The American swimmer might have lost a swim cap mid-race, but she ultimately broke the 100m butterfly world record tonight after finishing in a time of 55.98 seconds.

Medal Count: So far, the United States has acquired 11 medals (three gold, five silver and three bronze), taking the runner-up position to China, who currently has 12 medals.

Wieber's Tumble: Shockingly, the 17-year-old USA gymnast didn't place in the finals. Jordyn Wieber continued to congratulate teammates Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas, who were moving forward, via Twitter by writing, "Thank you all for your love and support. I am so proud of our team today and I can't wait for team finals!!"

Royal Riding: The Queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips made her Olympic equestrian debut today, and she did pretty well. According to NBC News, Phillips placed 24th in the first three phases, despite a slight mistake in the first "flying change."

"That was nothing to do with the crowd. It was just inexperience and getting stronger, and he's getting stronger all the time," she explained.
