With just hours to go before the opening ceremony kicks off the 2012 London games, there seems to be no antidote for the global case of Olympics fever.

Rightly so.

And not even our fearless leaders are immune, as Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth II today joined forces in England's capital city, hosting a head-of-state-studded reception before the games officially begin.

The Buckingham Palace shindig was the hottest ticket in town (well, at least until tonight when Danny Boyle's opening opus demands the world's attention), and the guest list lived up to the hype.

Among those in attendance at the sporty kickoff were first lady Michelle Obama, decked out in J. Mendel, British Prime Minister David Cameron and Jamaican Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller; even the President of Mongolia (Elbegdorj Tsakhia, though we're sure you already knew that...um, right?) made the trip for the palace reception.

And Kate (wearing Christopher Kane) wasn't the only royal on the welcoming committee. Along with Liz and the duchess, Prince Harry and Princess Beatrice also turned out in their patriotic finest. Go team.
