Fringe star John Noble is suffering from a sleep disorder that has forced producers to halt production on the show's fifth and final season after just four days of filming, sources confirm to E! News.

Noble, who plays fan favorite character Walter Bishop on the cult favorite Fox series, has not been sleeping well, and the show has now halted production until August 7 so that the 63-year-old can seek treatment.

The actor was supposed to be in Los Angeles this week to promote the show's final season at Fox's summer press tour, but was unable to appear.

During the panel, executive producer Joel Wyman tried to explain Noble's absence, saying, "He's under the weather...everybody came who could come. We were trying to bring as much as we could, and you got him [indicating Joshua Jackson]."
