On Tuesday, America's Got Talent's Sharon Osbourne took to her Twitter and sent out a tweet to fellow judge Howard Stern that caused million of AGT fans to start freaking out.

"My darling @HowardStern," Osbourne wrote to Stern. "Money is not the reason I'm not returning to @nbcagt, it's because..."

And that's all she wrote! So we went directly to the source during an AGT press junket, and after a lot of beating around the bush and comedy acts from Stern and Howie Mandel, we finally got a (sort of) straight answer.

Watch: Why Is Sharon Osbourne Leaving "AGT"?

"I would never leave you," Osbourne gushed to Stern during an interview with E! News. "That's why we're going to CBS to have a late night talk show together."

She's joking. We hope. But the jokes didn't stop there.

"You're going to stay with AGT. I'm going to American Idol with Mariah Carey," Stern quipped.

Finally, good ol' Sharon stopped yanking our chains and confirmed that she will stay on AGT for now. "I will be here today, tomorrow," she told us before being interrupted yet again by the peanut gallery.
