Pawnee is about to get even more political!

Just how awesome is Parks and Recreation? So awesome that three sitting senators will be appearing on the show next season! Yes, you read that right. Senator John McCain and two other senators will be guest-starring on the NBC comedy this fall and we've got all the details right here...

The New York Times reports that McCain, Barbara Boxer of California and Olympia J. Snowe of Maine will all appear in an episode of Parks and Recreation's fifth season. So what brings the D.C. bigwigs to Pawnee?

Turns out, Pawnee goes to D.C. and the three senators interact with Leslie (Amy Poehler) and Ben (Adam Scott) at a cocktail party. No big deal.

In the season four finale, Ben moved to D.C. after joining the staff of a congressman, so it seems like Leslie and Ben will be making their long-distance relationship work! (Knope they can!)

On Thursday, McCain tweeted a picture of himself and Poehler, saying, ""Had a great time shooting @ParksandRecNBC today w/Amy Poehler - I think it's an Emmy!" Endorsed by a senator? Yeah, Amy's totally got that Emmy in the bag!

The episode is currently scheduled to air on Sept. 27, but NBC may move the episode up a week earlier.
