We know that Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) will be battling The Silver Samuraiand not Jessica Biel—in the next X-Men Origins installment and that Ben Kingsley will take on Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) when Iron Man 3 this theaters.

But who will take on the Mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) when he returns in Thor: The Dark World?

One of Hollywood's elite stuntmen might have just let slip our first clue…

"I had a load of stunt guys in and the director came in and he said ‘Look, we want you all to be elves,'" James Grogan (who last did stunt work for Snow White and the Huntsman) revealed about his work on the Thor sequel.

Grogan continues, "And I was like, ‘What the hell is an elf, anyway?' He said ‘I want you all to walk around like these supernatural animals.' Honestly, it was the most ridiculous thing ever but you just have to not be self aware and get on with it."

Fans have taken this to mean only one thing: The dark elves of Svartalfheim, who posses superhuman strength and speed, quick reflexes and heightened intelligence. Their own weakness? Iron. Thor better hope that hammer of his does the trick, eh?

The leader of the dark elves is named Malekith the Accursed, who is now speculated to be the big bad in the appropriately named Thor: The Dark World. We could easily have seen Mads Mikkelsen—who was originally slated to play the villain before bowing out—taking on the master of sorcery.

It's already been annouced that Tom Hiddleston will be returning as the mischievous Loki and Marvel lore featured a meaty storyline in which Loki and Malekith teamed up to steal the Casket of Ancient Witners, a weapon that can create an infinite icy cold.

And while this all sounds like a lot of extraterrestrial fun, we have to wonder how Natalie Portman's earthingly will factor into the sequel? Well fear not, Jane, because Malekith also at one point used magic to control all of Earth's humans.

On second though, maybe fear a little bit.
