Feeling bad to the bone? There's no shame in that. Hey, maybe you're just terribly bored of all the coverage of goody two-shoed Batman and his do-gooder ways—saving the world gets so repetitive, after all.

We feel the exact same way. (Though, for the record, we love Christian Bale and all the vigilantes of the big screen). But it's time we all took a peek at the people who challenge the Caped Crusader and make him the hero we all know and love.

Because if Gotham wasn't constantly in danger of being frozen, poisoned or turned into a giant rainforest, what would good ole Bruce Wayne have to do except fiddle with his utility belt?!

And the who's who of Batman villains is quite the A-list roster.

Shall we count the actors off by their crimes?!

There's the late, great Heath Ledger, arguably the most renowned of all Batman baddies (by the Oscars, at least) and his nefarious plot to send Gotham into complete chaos. Or perhaps Uma Thurman is more your type, a broad who was (evilly) eco-friendly before it was cool to go green.

Then there's the pre-Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger, who had a chilly chip on his shoulder, more Catwomen than you can shake a ball of yarn at (looking at you, Eartha Kitt, Michelle Pfeiffer and the latest Selina Kyle, Anne Hathaway) and a bunch of penguins armed to the beaks with missiles, courtesy of the wicked Danny DeVito.

And that's just the tip of the iceburg (shoutout, Mr. Freeze!). As we prepare for Bane and Catwoman to wreak havoc on Gotham  in The Dark Knight Rises, it's time to take a look back at Batman's Baddest Villains.
