Here's a simple math formula, folks: Twitter + Justin Bieber = Instant. Fame.
Just ask Madison Beer—the latest undercover superstar who is now trending worldwide thanks to a couple tweets from the Biebs.
If you believe the Twitter hype, 13-year-old Beer is currently in talks to sign (or already has) with Scooter Braun—the talent manager who represents both Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen and is known for discovering the Biebs on YouTube.
So, exactly how did this Madison madness begin?!
With a little help from all 25 million of Justin's followers.
The social media-lovin' star tweeted this morning to all of his loyal Beliebers and posted a YouTube video of Madison singing Etta James' "At Last" to his Twitter page:
"@justinbieber OMGOGMFHAHDBSBAWHEBSBSHHWEHHDXHSHHAFBBAGEEHYBT I CANT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING. I AM CRYING."
Seem silly? Well, her enthusiasm is well-warranted. The original Bieber tweet has already been retweeted over 14 thousand times, and Madison's up to nearly 20 thousand followers (it's probably doubled by the time you're reading this). Plus, Madison's been trending worldwide ever since the tweet got a Bieber fever following.
And if that's not enough? Justin posted two additional videos of the sensational songstress and tweeted at both Carly Rae Jepsen (his previous protégée) and Bruno Mars to take notice:
"haha. @carlyraejepsen watch this. pretty funny. reminds me of my old videos. #MashUpFReakOUT youtu.be/yYt7DfLHwPM," Justin wrote and then tweeted again, "this is just how i started. i love it. @brunomars u gotta see one. She is great. #STAR- youtu.be/COhrE0aW_tk"
It's official: When Justin Bieber calls you a star, the world takes notice.
Oh, the powers of social media.
