Charlie Sheen is not—we repeat, not—going to be a judge on American Idol.

But a man can dream, right?

Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe recently joked that Fox should consider the sometimes-controversial Anger Management star to replace departing judges like Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.

The "news" got Sheen's attention. "It seemed so out of the blue that it almost made perfect sense," Sheen told Ryan Seacrest today on his morning radio show. "I thought, 'This could be really fun. This could be a lot of fun.'"

Sheen even had a proposal in mind. He'd want a charitable component as part of his participation.

"I'm genuinely interested," Sheen said. "It's different. It could be radical."

It certainly would be. But Sheen thinks he'd be a good judge because he'd be "very honest" with the contestants without "creating any suicidal moments."

When Sheen asked Seacrest if he had heard anything about him possibly being considered, he insisted, "They don't tell me anything."
