Call it a collision course with cancellation: Linkin Park has scrapped an upcoming tour of China after lead vocalist Chester Bennington injured his back.

Physicians ordered the frontman not to travel or engage in any physical activities, per the band's website.

"Linkin Park sincerely regrets this unavoidable cancellation and apologizes to fans for any disappointment caused. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase."

No word exactly how Bennington sustained the injury, which also caused the band to nix a show in Las Vegas on Monday.

Linkin Park had arranged to play a series of stadium dates to benefit victims of the deadly May earthquake that ravaged Sichuan Province: Shanghai on Oct. 12, the central city of Wuhan on Oct. 15, Taiwan's capital of Taipei on Oct. 17, Beijing on Oct. 19 and Macau on Oct. 21.

The Grammy-winning group said it will still contribute funds from its nonprofit organization, Music for Relief, to postquake reconstruction projects, along with generous donations by the tour's promoter, Emma Ticketmaster, and matching contributions from the World Bank.
