Shocker alert: It's possible that working for Courtney Love is no picnic.

The predictably unpredictable Hole frontwoman was sued today by a former assistant who claims that, during the year she worked for Love, the singer "acted with an improper and evil motive amounting to malice or despicable conduct."

Evil seems like a strong word...

According to the lawsuit obtained by E! News, plaintiff Jessica Labrie was hired by Love in June 2010 as an administrative assistant and "forensic research aide" for $30 an hour—and it was down-hill from there.

Among Labrie's allegations against the "Pretty on the Inside" artist, per the complaint: Love had her working 60-hour-plus weeks without paying overtime, she asked her to hire a computer hacker, she directed her to send fake legal correspondence, she never followed up with a promise to pay for Labrie's Yale tuition, she never paid her any promised bonuses and she didn't secure her a promised job on the set of a Nirvana biopic.

The list goes on.

Labrie also states that, in addition to repeatedly asking for the money she was owed, she had voiced concerns to Love about the ethical and legal implications of the questionable things the artist allegedly asked her to do.

On Jun 27, 2011, the suit continues, Labrie was forced to resign with Love still owing her more than $2,000.

The plaintiff says the situation caused her headaches, insomnia, anxiety and depression. She is seeking unspecified damages for alleged wrongful termination, failure to pay wages and overtime, negligent misrepresentation, breach of contract and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Meanwhile, Love's rep says in a statement to E! News, "The allegations being made are completely unfounded and are being made with malice by a disgruntled former employee."
