While the world wonders who could possibly replace Regis Philbin's seat next to Kelly Ripa on Live, rumor had it ABC was already favoring one funnyman for the spot.
Last week, word got out that Saturday Night Live comic Seth Meyers would be the "probable winner" of the gig.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
Yes, you will see Meyers cohosting Live With Kelly all this week, but he made sure to clear the air about whether or not he would permanently take that seat.
"No, no, no, no, no," Meyers told the Orlando Sun-Sentinel today. "I know [Regis' replacement] is a very important thing down there. But, right now, what I would say to you: I'm really in love with the job I have. I'm very excited to be going back [to SNL] for the election season, which is always fun."
Sorry if the idea got you bursting with joy, but there are still other names swirling around for the job.
Other potential picks are former football star Michael Strahan or singer Josh Groban—does that get you excited? Who would you like to see next to Ripa? Let us know in the comments!
