Over the last few months, speculation has been mounting that the Saturday Night Live player could be planning his exit from the show following the departures of castmates Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg.
He ain't doing much to squelch talk of that: In the latest issue of Men's Journal, the funnyman weighs in on his feelings about the show, which he describes as both an "amazing" and "horrible" job, while dropping some major hints about moving on.
"I've left places before. This is very, very different," he tells the mag, in an excerpt published by the New York Daily News.
"Goodbyes are tough," he adds.
The 36-year-old also expressed some ambivalence about the show, which he describes as both "an amazing job and a horrible job."
A seven-year SNL vet, Sudeikis is under no obligation to return to the show now that his contract is up.
Although his departure would be a huge blow to SNL, it wouldn't be an all-out shocker given that his movie career is taking off. Last year, he costarred in the $200 million–grossing Horrible Bosses, and he'll next appear in the Will Ferrell political comedy The Campaign, which hits theaters in August.
He's also set to costar with real-life ladylove Olivia Wilde in the rom-com Relanxious, about an agoraphobic man who meets a woman with anxiety disorder.
That doesn't mean he won't miss SNL, should he decide to bolt: Last month, he chatted with Rolling Stone about his love for sketch comedy, and the peeps at SNL.
"That's what I love about sketch comedy: A sketch is five minutes, then it goes dark, and there's the potential for something else," he said. "And I'll miss the people. The people, the process, the parties—those are the three p's I'll miss the most."
Sounds like the guy might have already made up his mind.
