There are lots of TV series renewal and cancellation Q's out there today, so let's knock out a few A's, shall we?

Makenzi in Overland Park, Kan.: What is the status on My Boys? Will it be picked up for a third season?
Yes! TBS announced this morning that it has ordered nine new episodes, which will premiere in early 2009.

Christine in Seattle: Can you tell me if The Riches is coming back for a third season?
According to Todd Stashwick (Dale) on his MySpace page, The Riches has been canceled. I also have it on good authority that FX will make an official announcement tomorrow—and I don't think you're going to love the news.

Henry in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Malaysia: Do you have any 24 prequel or season seven scoop to quench this spoiler thirst of mine?

Check back Friday, when I'll do a preview of the prequel movie, 24: Redemption, aka "Jack Bauer Saves Children!" (Why didn't anyone ever think of this before?!)

Katie in London, England: I read that Terminator might get canceled. Is that true?
Predictably, no one is talking, but from what I've seen and heard from the show runners and the studio, I think it's fair to say there is a lot of anxiety about the ratings and the future of the show.

Felicia in Atlanta: Any word on summer shows being picked up for another season (e.g., Flashpoint, Swingtown)?
Flashpoint will return to CBS next summer (yay, more Enrico Colantoni!), but Swingtown looks less likely. The ratings were iffy, and the creator is already working on another show. Sorry.

Lotta in Berlin: Will there be a second season of The Middleman?
A rep for ABC Family, the network that airs Middleman here in the States, told me, "At this moment, no decision has been made yet about the fate of The Middleman." That is an unsatisfying answer if ever there was one! I'll keep digging.

Ryan C.: What about Privileged on the CW, The Mentalist on CBS, True Blood on HBO and The Cleaner on A&E?

  • Privileged still needs a back nine order from the CW. (You guys love it, so I'm feeling optimistic.)
  • CBS has ordered six more episodes of The Mentalist, on top of the original 13. The ratings are great, so I'm sure it will eventually get a full-season order.
  • HBO has already given True Blood a second season order, so you can continue to Watch Vampires With Kristin. Yay! (A little random trivia-gossip: A source tells us that True Blood's cast and crew knew they were getting a season two a full month before the show even premiered.)
  • The Cleaner? A rep for A&E says "No news yet." We'll let you know as soon as we hear more.

L.H.: What happened to that show Shiri Appleby was supposed to have had on USA? To Love and Die?
It's all but dead. I would be surprised if they ever produced anything past the pilot. Sorry. However, if you love Shiri, you can see her as an intern on ER this season.

T.T.: What about The Secret Life of the American Teenager?
Secret Life will be back in January with new episodes.

Jennilynn: When is Reaper coming back? My husband calls it "Buffy for dudes," and we can't wait to find out if Sam is the Devil's son.
I just double-checked to make sure I hadn't missed anything, and nope, there is still no premiere date for Reaper season two. If I had to guess, I'd say Reaper would most likely return to the CW in late February or early March 2009.

Jason: How about Pushing Daisies? Especially with the dismal ratings from last week?
No comment, because I love those Daisies so very much. What? Denial is a thing you can do.

Steve: What about Chuck? How is it faring in the ratings? Has it been officially picked up for a full season?
Chuck is safe, despite less-than-optimal ratings. NBC loves the show and gave it a full-season order back in August, before season two even premiered. And we'll just have to cross the season-three bridge when we come to it.

If you love Pushing Daisies, Privileged, Terminator, Swingtown or The Middleman and want to see them saved, post in the comments! Any other shows you're dyin' to know about? Post your Q's below or email tvdiva@eonline.com, and we'll try to get you answers!
