We're not sure if sibling rivalry or the ticking of the male biological clock is to blame, but the Followill family is expanding at a rapid rate.

Just a few days after brother and bandmate Caleb Followill and wife Lily Aldridge welcomed their first child, daughter Dixie Pearl, Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill has announced that he and wife Jessie Baylin are doing their part for the enlargement of the family gene pool and are expecting their own little rock-and-roll scion.

So, is this King expecting a prince or a princess?

So far, that info hasn't been announced, but the band's spokesman, Ken Weinstein, tells E! News that the rocking couple is due in December.

"They are two of the most excited people I know," he said.

Nathan proved as much this morning, when he tweeted the good news.

"I can proudly announce that me & the lovely @JessieBaylin are expecting our first child," he wrote. "I'm beyond excited/anxious. Life is beautiful."

The couple tied the knot back in November 2009, and this is the first child for the drummer and his singer wife, who earlier this year was touring in support of her new album, Little Spark.

But it seems the duo are currently taking it easy. Nathan celebrated his 33rd birthday yesterday and has been tweeting photos of his celebrations (and golf game) all week.

Congrats, you two!
