Is it dumb to let go of a place like this? Or dumber?

But don't fret for Jim Carrey, who has listed his ocean-front home in the celeb-studded gated enclave of Malibu Colony for $13.95 million. He also has a place in the none-too-shabby L.A. district of Brentwood—he's gonna be just fine.

Carrey bought the 2,866-square-foot beach house 10 years ago for $9.75 million, according to the Los Angeles Times, and while its appeal may have eroded for him, surely someone else will find eternal sunshine alongside neighbors like Tom Hanks, Jason Statham, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, Brian Grazer and Leonardo DiCaprio (or the people he rents to, anyway).

The contemporary home features an open living room leading out to a terrace with adjustable privacy walls, a dining room with built-in buffet, a top-of-the-line kitchen, a family room with a built-in flat screen and a rooftop deck with a spa. An outdoor entertaining area boasts a barbecue, surfboard racks and plenty of lounging space.

The five-bedroom, 5 1/2-bathroom spread includes a second-floor master suite that looks over the Pacific and a bed-and-bath suite for staff.

According to the Real Estalker, Carrey, who owns two adjacent lots in Brentwood, has also been apartment hunting in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
