We already know that some of the royals are pretty skilled when it comes to athletics.

But one young lady in particular shows so much promise, that she's been selected to compete in the Olympic games.

So who can we look forward to seeing go for the gold?

That would be Queen Elizabeth II's granddaughter Zara Phillips.

According to The New York Times, Phillips was selected to compete on Great Britain's Olympic team at the London Games in 2012. An experienced equestrian, Zara is one of five members of Great Britain's eventing team, according to a statement released Monday by the British Equestrian Federation.

"It's awesome to be given this opportunity," Phillips said in a statement released by the federation. "I'm really excited and can't wait to kick on and get him there—hopefully we will make it this time after you know what happened last."

This will be the 31-year-old's Olympic debut after missing out on the 2008 Beijing Games when her horse, Toytown, was injured before the competition. Phillips will be competing with a horse named High Kingdom.

Sounds fitting, if you ask us.
