The MTV folks have a brand-new host for next month's MTV Movie Awards: Russell Brand!

The comedian, who's taken on emceeing duties for the network twice before at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2008 and 2009, will be hosting his first MTV Movie Awards shindig on June 3 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles.

Get him to the Gibson!

"The MTV Movie Awards incorporates two of my favorite things: movies and awards," quipped the funnyman in an MTV statement. "If somehow group sex could be involved it would be the greatest night of my life."

Let's hope the Rock of Ages star is finally all caught up with his Twilight know-how, because Breaking Dawn: Part 1 is one of the nominees for the night's top prize, Movie of the Year.

It'll be slugging it out with Bridesmaids, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, The Help and The Hunger Games.

Games, in particular, is the film to beat this year, snagging nods in eight categories including Best Female Performance (Jennifer Lawrence), Best Male Performance (Josh Hutcherson), Breakthrough Performance (Liam Hemsworth) and Best Cast.

Then again, the gonzo awards show is also known for its tongue-in-cheek shout-outs, so expect showdowns for Best On-Screen Dirtbag (we're lookin' atcha, Horrible Bosses nutjob Jennifer Aniston) and Best Gut-Wrenching Performance (someone get dem Bridesmaids babes some Imodium, stat!).

Natch, expect a star-studded show, as celebs like Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are expected to attend.
