Everyone has a dream, and if you're an aspiring singer fulfilling that dream can often seem impossible.

Enter Emmy Award-winning producer Nigel Lythgoe and his A-List Artist Development team—think Mary J. Blige, and producer Antonina Armato from Rock Mafia—who have been combing the web to find the most talented amateurs so they can offer them the chance of a lifetime.

Just what is that chance? To be the opening act for performers like Nicki Minaj, Rod Stewart, LMFAO, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Jason Mraz, Gym Class Heroes and others.

But this isn't your typical talent show, because in Opening Act there are no auditions, no competitions, no judges whatsoever. In other words, once you're chosen you are in, and your training in "performance boot camp" begins.

Through intense mentoring sessions with top industry heavyweights, each participant is given a one-night-only performance that can make or break the career of their dreams. Each act will be teamed with a superstar headliner to open a show on their current world tours, putting them front and center of the music world.

"There is an extraordinary amount of untapped talent out there," said Lythgoe. "But if you don't know the right people or have the right connections, you may never be discovered. With 'Opening Act', we are democratizing a notoriously impossible process, pulling back the curtains on a consistently fascinating industry, and affording aspiring artists the chance of a lifetime."

Opening Act premieres on July 9 at 10 p.m. only on E!
