It looks like Iron Man may have gotten himself a new "sexy scientist."

Shortly after Jessica Chastain announced her departure from Iron Man 3 Monday, Rebecca Hall is next in line to play the superhero's latest leading lady, the actress's rep confirmed to E! News.

The 29-year-old The Town star is reportedly in talks to join the production, which starts shooting this month in North Carolina before heading to China.

Although specific details of the franchise's third installment are being kept under wraps, we do know Hall's character will be a bit of a rival for Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts, going toe-to-toe with her to win Iron Man's love.

The flick is set to hit theaters until May 3, 2013.

In the meantime, we want to know…what do you think of this casting switcheroo? Sound off in the comments!
