Is it crazy to say that elimination night totally rocked?!

Thursday's are far from fun on the set of American Idol, but there's no denying it was a superstar-studded night on the Idol stage with amazing performances from Coldplay and Idol alumn-country megastar Carrie Underwood! Excuse us for a moment while we completely fan out.

However, the reality of the evening was one of the top five had to kiss their Idol dream goodbye and that in itself is pretty sad face. So why is the eliminated contestant relieved to be off the show, what was Carrie's reaction, and did Jennifer Lopez really snub them off-camera? The stars spilled all after the show!

Whew! What a night! Once the competition gets to the final five, it is nearly impossible to predict who will be stepping out of the spotlight.

Although Jimmy Iovine predicted Phillip Phillips would be in the bottom two and potentially be the one sent packing, it was Skylar Laine's Wednesday night performances that didn't resonate with the Idol audience, making it her turn to take center stage and sing her good-bye to America.

Some Idol fans may be scratching their heads at the results, but it was pretty obvious at commercial break that Phillip's female fans are keeping him in the competition. When Ryan Seacrest jokingly gave Phillip's chewed-up gum (used as an impromptu prop on the show) to a pack of screechy cheerleaders, there was definitely a little scuffle to see who would end up with a scrap of Phillip to take home. Ummm...yeah.

While past contestants have taken their eliminations hard (flashback to Pia Toscano in season 10), Skylar was all smiles and perky as ever after the show.

"It's OK!" she said. "I'm not surprised. I'm really not surprised that I was sent home because you can't be surprised at all. You never know what's going to happen week to week. I'm just relieved that there's no pressure anymore. There's no pressure about songs next week. I mean, I'm sad, but I just want to go home to my family and friends and go mud-driving! That's the first thing I'm gonna do!"

When we caught up with Carrie Underwood, she expressed her own disappointment, but added that she has no idea who will end up winning the competition.

"I loved seeing Skylar up there representing country music. It's sad to see her not on the show anymore. I just have no idea who will end up as the winner. They really occupy their own genres and music, which is really cool."

Unfortunately, there were some uncool parts of the evening, starting with another pretaped performance. Yep, Coldplay was pretaped, disappointing the studio audience again. Generating boos and other words of dissatisfaction...again. Just so you know, the shot of Ryan with confetti flying around him with Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar after the second Coldplay performance was totally staged! Cue eye roll, and FYI, Jennifer's upcoming Idol performance is going to be pretaped as well. Lame.

Speaking of Jennifer, her lack of encouraging and comforting words with Skylar postshow seemed a little cold, and Skylar agreed it was a little weird.

"Jennifer didn't say much to me at the end," she spilled. "She just said, 'See you later.' She was [short], but Steven [Tyler] is a known fan of mine, and him and Randy [Jackson] both told me I'll have a long career. I also heard that Carrie Underwood said to someone that the country music community has already welcomed me with open arms, and that means a lot to me."

Are you sad to see Skylar go? Who do you think will be in the finale? Let us know in the comments!
