Three words we never thought we'd hear from longtime bachelor Hugh Grant about having children: "I recommend it." But now, he's all giddy about a girl.

"I can't pretend it wasn't a little bit of a surprise but, it's a very nice surprise," Grant admitted in an interview airing tomorrow on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, referring to the news that his now 6-month-old daughter, Tabitha, was on the way. (Her mother is Tinglang Hong and even Grant's rep described their previous relationship as a "fleeting affair.")

So little Tabitha's other name makes perfect sense!

Jīngxǐ, the baby's name in Chinese (the child's mum is Chinese), "means 'happy surprise,'" Grant said. "It's one of the baby's names."

And it sounds as if the The Pirates! Band of Misfits star has zero regrets about the new branch on his family tree.

"It's surprising that everyone was right all these years, saying, 'Hugh, why don't you have some children? It changes your life,'"  the 51-year-old thesp reminisces.

"And, you're thinking, 'Oh shut up.' And now that I have one, it is life changing. I recommend it. Get some!"
