Did James Franco and Rihanna Almost Hook Up?!

Actor reveals how he and the singer nearly worked together on one of her music videos

James Franco's fondness for Rihanna is no secret.

This is the guy who was more than happy to share with the world a clip of himself lip-synching to the singer's "You Da One."

But who knew the Barbadian pop star also has a similar appreciation for the quirky actor?

Before anyone starts the Ashton Kutcher-like romance rumors here, though, it should be noted that the two simply almost worked together.

"She actually asked me to be in that ["We Found Love"] video, the one with the relationship that gets crazy," Franco told MTV News. "I couldn't do it. But, I guess, I hope that means there's mutual love between us."

While that particular hookup didn't pan out, Franco says they may end up teaming up after all.

"I think she's gonna be in the new movie [The Apocalypse] that I'm doing, Seth Rogen's directorial debut," he pointed out. "I think she has a little part in that."

So not all hope is lost for these two.
