We haven't met the Bones baby yet, but looks like we might get our chance soon!

Fox announced today that it's picked up the David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel–led series for an eighth season…

The early renewal is welcome news for fans, who've been waiting for the series to return from hiatus.

Since the second half of the current season revolves around the birth of the baby, maybe next season we'll get a time jump and see a little Bones and Booth toddler waddling around. But we'll leave that up to Hart Hanson and the gang.

Speaking of which…

Kevin Reilly, Fox's president of entertainment, had nothing but nice things to say about the group behind the show.

"Over the past seven seasons, Hart Hanson, Stephen Nathan and the incredible Bones cast and crew have redefined the traditional crime procedural with an irreverent and adventurous sensibility and I'm really happy to have this distinctive, fan favorite on our schedule for another season," he said in a statement.

Guess what else is cool? Bones will celebrate 150 episodes next season. Break out the bubbly! Or sparking apple juice, depending on your age.

The renewal isn't that shocking, seeing as back in January during the TCA winter press tour, Reilly told reporters he wanted another season.

"We've been pretty darn happy with [Bones'] performance on Thursday night," he said. "As CSI was fading, that's a really valuable show to us…It's a fan favorite and I like those people, and we have nothing coming down that replaces it."

Bones finally returns with new episodes on April 2.
