Update, 2:30 pm: A rep for Lindsay Lohan tells us: "Lindsay will be appearing in an episode of Glee."
In perhaps the most surprising Glee casting move, well...ever!, sources confirm to us that Lindsay Lohan is in talks to guest star on the Fox series in May, playing a role we're pretty sure she can nail: herself! Also, Whoopi Goldberg has sealed her deal to appear in three episodes.
So what brings Lindsay and Whoopi to the Glee-verse?
As first reported by TVLine, Lohan is being tapped to play a judge at Nationals in one of the final episodes of the season.
Per sources, the deal has not yet been signed on the dotted line, but is expected to go through.
Assuming it does, this casting move is fascinating, not only because it's the next high-profile step in Lindsay's Hollywood comeback (she recently hosted NBC's Saturday Night Live to mixed reviews), but also because Lindsay's mother Dina Lohan once spoke out against Glee's producers. After the show included a scene in which Katie Couric informed Jane Lynch's Sue Sylvester that she beat out Lindsay Lohan's mom and her dog Sparky Lohan to make the list of the "world's biggest losers," Dina told E! News:"It's a shame as the dance numbers are amazing, but the writers need to be nice and more creative as opposed to being hurtful."
Nice to see everyone's now getting along!
Whoopi, meanwhile, will play a recruiter for NYADA, the performing-arts school Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) are so desperately hoping to get into after they graduate McKinley High this year. She'll be overseeing their auditions.
So much star power coming your way, Gleeks. This can only mean one thing: May sweeps is coming! Get ready.
How do you feel about Lindsay and Whoopi's casting?
