The Superman Returns star and his wife, Parenthood actress Courtney Ford, are expecting their first child, Routh's rep confirms to E! News.
So, just how excited are the parents-to-be?
"It's been so hard keeping the news to ourselves," Routh admitted to People. Added Ford, of her growing belly: "It started getting difficult to hide what was happening.
"Flu and food poisoning excuses only work for so long, and by the last episode I could no longer button my pants! I just tried to joke that I had a big lunch."
Routh met Ford in 2003 when he was still working as a bartender in Hollywood, several years before he landed the role of Superman in Bryan Singer's reboot of the famed story. The longtime sweethearts tied the knot in November 2007.
No word on a name yet, but we have a feeling they're going to let Nicolas Cage's son remain the only Kal-el in Hollywood.
