It's a CBS renewal party…but is your favorite show invited?
Today the network revealed it wasn't doing the cool thing of renewing programs one or two at a time, and has announced pickups on 15(!) series…
CBS is the king of the procedural shows, so obviously it's bringing back the very popular NCIS, NCIS: LA, Criminal Minds, CSI and The Mentalist. As for comedies, Mike & Molly and freshman hit 2 Broke Girls both got new seasons, and on the drama side, The Good Wife, Hawaii Five-0, Person of Interest and Blue Bloods all got the green light.
A huge omission on the returning list is Two and a Half Men, which is reportedly in "preliminary talks" for another season. Chuck Lorre said at Monday night's PaleyFest regarding chances of a renewal: "It's unusual if they cancel a show that's in the top 10. I think there's hope."
Of course, that's only if Ashton Kutcher agrees to come back, as Lorre told us that he didn't "see any reason to continue without him."
Also not on the list of scripted programs getting renewals: new series Unforgettable, A Gifted Man and Rob plus CSI spin-offs CSI: Miami and CSI: NY, and the veteran show Rules of Engagement.
If you're a fan of races that are amazing and bosses that are undercover, you're in luck! The Amazing Race and Undercover Boss also got picked up for new seasons, along with 60 MInutes and 48 Hours Mystery.
Wondering where How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory are? Relax. Those shows are in the middle multi-renewal deals, so they're sitting real pretty.
CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler says in a statement: "This large-scale renewal is testimony to the strength, stability and success of a deep and diverse roster of top-rated programming. It positions us for continued success next season and certainly creates an environment that will give our new shows the best possible chance to succeed."
Thoughts on these renewals? Are your favorite shows in danger?
