Rejoice One Tree Hills fans who've been missing out on their weekly Chad Michael Murray fix since he left the CW hit series (save one recent appearance in the show's final season): The actor has just landed a juicy role in the ABC drama pilot Scruples, which is set in the '70s and is being produced by Natalie Portman. Yes, that Natalie Portman.
So who is CMM playing?
Based on the novel by Judith Krantz, Scruples follows a powerful clothing designer Billy (Claire Forlani) who opens a fashion boutique in Beverly Hills following the death of her husband and faces revenge and scandal along the way.
Murray is set to take on the role of Spider Elliot, a photographer whose tendency to sleep with his subjects lands him in hot water until he partners with Billy in her fashion endeavor. The role was originally played by Barry Bostwick in the '80s miniseries of the same name.
Other actors starring in the project include Boris Kodjoe as Billy's ex-husband's attorney, Pan Am's Karinne Vanasse as a designer named Valentine (the role is in second position to her one in the sky-high drama, which ABC has yet to renew) and Jessica McNamee.
Murray is known for playing Lucas Scott on the CW's One Tree Hill as well as his turns in films such as House of Wax, Freaky Friday and A Cinderella Story.
