Guess there really is no such thing as bad publicity.

Despite a recent trip to rehab to treat sexual addiction, Californication's top fornicator David Duchovny isn't having a hard time finding work. He just managed to snag a gig keeping up with The Joneses.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Duchovny, Demi Moore, Amber Heard and Gary Cole have all been cast in the social commentary dramedy, revolving around a picture-perfect superpopular suburban family who have actually been hired by an evil yet slightly genius marketing company to sell luxury goods to upscale communities.

Duchovny plays the tormented living-a-lie father, Moore stars as the career-driven bogus mom who begins to feel for her fake hubby, and Heard plays the sham daughter who strives to seduce her pretend papa.

Ah, yes, the American Dream.

Office Space boss extraordinaire Cole plays a neighbor in the film, production on which kicks off in Atlanta in mid-October.

Meanwhile, Guy Ritchie may be proving to have an even more sick sense of humor than first thought, with Jude Law in talks to play Watson to Robert Downey Jr.'s titular detective in Sherlock Holmes, according to Variety.

While no other major castings have been confirmed, it was reported in the British media last week that infamously scorned onetime Law fiancée Sienna Miller had also boarded the project after her Robin Hood project with Russell Crowe was pushed back till next year.

Somehow, we sense a retraction coming on.

Production on the drama kicks off in London next month.

In other big casting news:

  • The original bromancers, dynamic duo Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau, are teaming up again for the Favreau-penned, Vaughn-produced comedy Couples Retreat. According to Variety, the film, which will also star comedy gold Jason Bateman and Made costar Faizon Love, centers around four couples who set off to a tropical island resort to work on their marriages. Cameras roll in Los Angeles and—tough break—Bora Bora next month.
  • Luke Wilson and Giovanni Ribisi are on top of Middle Men. According to Variety, the pair has signed on to star in the indie drama centering on the inception of the Internet porn industry and the straight-and-narrow businessman who found himself at the center of the XXX action. Here's hoping they don't go Method.
  • Bill Hader and Anna Faris are rounding out the voice cast of the big-screen adaptation of best-selling kids fave Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. Per Variety, the 3-D version of the Judi Barrett classic already boasts the pipes of James Caan, Andy Samberg, Tracy Morgan, Mr. T and Bruce Campbell, and is set for release on Jan. 15, 2010.
  • Gossip Girl is getting a Gossip guy. Brooklyn's Finest thesp Wade Allen Marcus has signed up for a recurring role on the CW hit as Max, per the Hollywood Reporter. He plays a manipulative teen hipster photographer with ties to New York's fashion and art worlds.
