One thing's for certain: Lil Wayne couldn't use the ol' stuck-in-prison excuse.

Weezy was supposed to appear on Thursday night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, but after he inexplicably failed to show up at the last minute, Jimmy Kimmel had to do some last-minute improvising with a Lil Wayne stand-in.

Too bad Matt Damon wasn't available.

"I hope he hasn't been incarcerated again," quipped Kimmel, who had no idea of the hip-hopster's whereabouts.

Stood up, the late-night comic did the next best thing: He invited an audience member named Carl up onstage, gave him a Lil Wayne-looking dreadlock wig and hat, and introduced him as the "Lollipop" rapper, about whom it turns out the impostor knew very little.

For instance, when the funnyman asked the fake Lil Wayne what he was in jail for, a clearly stumped Carl answered, "Speeding," prompting howls from the studio audience (the real reason Lil Wayne was in the clink? Eight months for illegal weapons possession).

And the laughs continued from there. Take a look.
