Mad Max? Lethal Weapon? Nah, if you ask Mel Gibson, he's gotten past his anger problem.

An attorney for the Oscar winner appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom this morning and informed Judge Stephanie Sautner that Gibson has not only completed his anger-management class requirement, but has exceeded it!

Does that mean he's extra un-angry?

Gibson, 56, was sentenced in March 2011 to three years' probation, which included a year-long domestic violence counseling program, after pleading no contest to one misdemeanor count of domestic violence involving former galpal and baby mama Oksana Grigorieva.

While Gibson was not present, his lawyer, Blair Berk, presented the good news one day to the court one day ahead of a scheduled hearing in the matter. As long as Gibson stays out of trouble in the next two years, he'll be in the clear.

Here's hoping Mel's reached a more peaceful, plaintive state of existence.
