The reality star only recently announced that she and beau Jay Cutler are expecting their first child together and already the paps have snapped her sporting tons of chic, runway-ready outfits.
How perfect, then, that we got to catch up with Cavallari yesterday at New York Fashion Week, standing right near—where else?—the runway at the Betsey Johnson show.
What did we learn? That she's got really strong cravings for something she doesn't normally eat—and that she looks up to one particular celeb for maternity-fashion inspiration. And that celeb is...
Nicole Richie!
Cavallari says the star's boho-chic maternity style is something she's excited to try out.
"Nicole Richie did a great job with the whole boho theme," says The Hills star, decked out in an understated black number with intricate décolletage detailing. "The long dresses and the long skirts are just so comfortable. And I'll be huge when it's really hot out, so I'll probably go in that genre."
As for the pregnancy, she says she was initially feeling "really, really tired" over the holidays, but that she's now "snapping out of that. I'm getting my energy back. Didn't have any morning sickness, I got really lucky. It's been really great. I've really been enjoying it, actually."
So now, what about those cravings?
"You know, I went through a little bit of a diary phase," she admits, "[I'm] out of that now. I've been eating a lot of Twix, which I don't normally eat. I'm very natural. I don't like putting a lot of chemicals in my body, and I read the Twix wrapper and I'm just like, Oh my god! But I still have to have it!"
Although K.Cav's been spotted in lotsa bangin' preggers outfits, she says she actually hasn't filled her closet yet with new maternity duds, and that she's still maxing out her existing wardrobe.
"You know, I'm not so big yet that I can't wear my normal clothes still. Probably in the next month or two, I'm gonna get really big, though."
So does she see herself playing good cop or bad cop to her kid?
"Oh god, I'm probably gonna be kind of strict," she says. "I see myself kind of a strict parent. Hopefully Jay and I can [each] be a little bit of both: good cop and bad cop!"
Whichever role she plays, consider us already arrested by the expectant mom's sunny maternal glow!
