Where Is American Idol Reject William Hung Now?

He's no Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood, but William Hung certainly left his mark on the American Idol franchise.

Who could forget his passionate, off-key rendition of Ricky Martin's "She Bangs" at his 2004 audition?

Hung, now 29, didn't advance to the next round, and although he released three albums at the height of his fame, he's no longer working in the entertainment industry.

So what is he up to?

He's working in the basement of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department! "I enjoy my new job. It's pretty cool," he tells RumorFix, who discovered the Internet sensation wearing slacks and dress shirts to work with the Crime Analysis Program. "I enjoy what I do—pretty much everything. I feel like working for [the] police department has a lot of value."

As for his Idol experience? It changed his life "definitely for the better," he says. "Because people know who I am. I get to associate with more people."

Hung's coworkers say that while he's only been employed there for a few months, he's already making friends.
