Veronica Mars is back, y'all!
Sure, she isn't a teen PI or snuggling with Logan Echolls...in fact it's not even Veronica Mars, but hey, we'll take Kristen Bell back on our TVs in any way, shape or form! Bell's new comedy House of Lies, which also stars Don Cheadle, premiered on Showtime tonight. Another highly-anticipated newbie making its debut? NBC's reboot of the The Firm, which stars the recently engaged Josh Lucas as Mitch McDeere.
Now that you've seen them, we're curious to know what you thought of House of Lies and The Firm...
Drawing inspiration from a book about the management-consultant business by Martin Kihn, House of Lies centers on greedy power player Marty Kaan (Cheadle) as he swims with the sharks along with his team of consultants: Jeannie (Bell), Clyde (Parks & Recreation's awesome Jean Ralphio aka Ben Schwartz) and Doug (Josh Lawson).
Based on the best-selling novel by Josh Grisham and the 1993 movie version starring Tom Cruise, The Firm picks up 10 years after the end of the film. Mitch and his family have come out of witness protection and perhaps foolishly, he's decided to go back to his old name and run a law practice in Boston. Helping him are his brother Ray (Callum Keith Rennie) and his fiance/assistant Tammy (Juliette Lewis). Of course, you can't run from your past forever and it seems like Mitch's may be starting to catch up with him. While the two-hour premiere didn't blow us away, we were instantly charmed by Lucas and the cast, so we'll be sticking around.
