Saved by the Wedding Bells: Mario Lopez Is Engaged!

Actor and TV host popped the question to longtime girlfriend and baby mama Courtney Mazza over New Year's holiday; duo will return to Mexico to tie the knot later this year

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage? Not quite.

Mario Lopez has taken a slightly different track, as the actor and TV host's rep confirms to E! News that he's engaged to his longtime girlfriend and baby mama Courtney Mazza!

So, how did he pop the question?

The 38-year-old Extra host (he'll always be A.C. Slater to us) vowed to make an honest woman of Mazza during a trip to Ixtapa, Mexico, over New Year's weekend, and showed off both the ring and his nervous run-up to the proposal on home video footage shot and set to be shown on the air tonight.

"I've come to the realization that I'm never going to meet another woman as special and amazing as the one I have, and I think she's finally succumbed to my pressure and will take me," he told Extra. "So, we'll see. I hope."

There's no word yet on a wedding date, though the couple—who already have a 2-year-old daughter, Gia, together—are expected to return to Mexico to tie the knot later this year.

It'll be the first trip down the aisle for the 28-year-old Mazza, and the second for the 38-year-old Lopez, who in 2004, after just two weeks, had his marriage to Ali Landry annulled.
