What a woman!

Giuliana Rancic returned to E! News tonight, just a few weeks after undergoing a successful double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery as part of her ongoing treatment for breast cancer.

"It feels great to be back at work," Rancic told us exclusively. "I wasn't sure whether I was going to return to E! News this week or after the new year. The last thing I wanted to do was rush my recovery."

But lucky for everybody...

"Thankfully, I've been feeling better every single day since surgery and this weekend my doctors gave me the green light to get back to work," she continued. "Even though I moved a tad slower than usual today, everyone welcomed me back with open arms and it was a wonderful homecoming."

Slower? Nonsense!

Rancic didn't miss a bit as she warmly greeted her TV audience and kicked off her return with stories about, among other things, Matthew McConaughey and John Legend's engagements, the latest Mission: Impossible movie topping the weekend box office and a little Teen Mom legal drama.

"Back at work today since surgery," she had tweeted earlier today. "Excited to be on set of @ENews. I've missed my 2nd family (co-workers and you guys!!!) #thankful."

And it appears her colleagues felt exactly the same way.

"Gosh, what a nice holiday present coming back to work today on @ENews set with her royal awesomeness @GiulianaRancic," tweeted E!'s chief news correspondent Ken Baker.
