Tabloid fixtures want it both ways

All the H'wood regulars came out post-VMA's Sunday night to keep the party going, prancing over from the Paramount lot to the Chateau Marmont's after-party. Britney didn't make it to the after-do, damn, but we're thinking it's less to do with cutting back on her fast-lane (i.e., drive-through) lifestyle and more about being banned from the posh hotel after making a mess of herself—and her meal—last September.

But bad memories weren't enough to keep Lindsay and her lady-pal away. LiLo is up there with John Belushi on the list of notorious residents who've shacked up the Chateau...except L2 checked out alive. Babe tempted fate in her old haunts to root on Samantha Ronson, who was spinning at the In Touch-sponsored soiree.

The Super Madden Bros. and their Good Charlotte bandmates performed for the cocktail-induced crowd as well. And this ain't the first time Benji Madden's bit it for a goss-rag reception—we checked B.M. out back in May deejaying an In Touch fete with g-f Par. Hypocritical, no? Leave us alone, they'll sigh, then turn around and perform like monkeys for the same type of mag that makes their glam life such a so-called hell.

Guess what, famous guys 'n' gals, ya can't have it both ways. Don't go crying to us if ya see something unflattering in the press if you're all too happy to pose for it.
