Talk about your country songs come to life!

Mindy McCready, who set off family-service alarm bells yesterday by not bringing her 5-year-old son back home after a visit, is pregnant with twins, her rep confirms to E! News.

The troubled singer is in her second trimester. No other details—such as who the father is—were available.

So, what happens now to the child that McCready already has?

McCready has permission to visit son Zander, but her mother has custody of the child.

According to Cape Coral, Fla., police, the I'm Still Here singer picked Zander up from her parents' house without permission, prompting the Florida Department of Children and Families to file a missing persons report last night.

E! News confirmed with police today that they were not treating McCready and Zander's absence as a missing persons case and that the pair were safe.

McCready has since told reporters, however, that she is in Nashville with the boy and probably won't be able to make the deadline the court set for her to return Zander—5 p.m. tomorrow.

A warrant may be issued for her arrest if she doesn't show up at her parents' house with Zander in tow.
