It's a good thing Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila Alves had a boy.

So says McConaughey's older brother Michael, aka Rooster.

"A boy is a good one to start with," Rooster told E! News this morning from his Texas ranch. "He might not be able to handle a girl."

The actor and the Brazilian model/handbag designer welcomed a 7-pound, 4-ounce boy last night.

"I'm proud as s--t of him!" Rooster said. "He'll make a really great dad."

Rooster hasn't spoken to his brother yet, but understands if the new papa takes his time. "I imagine he is just sitting there staring at him," Rooster explained.

The McConaugheys' mom, Kay, blogged on her website about the parents-to-be shortly after they announced they were expecting their first child. "Matthew and Camila have a very loving relationship," she wrote. "I knew he wanted to be a father, and Camila is the first lady I've seen him with that I knew if it were ever going to happen, it would happen with her."

While a name for the baby hasn't been revealed, Kay says the little one will be calling her "MaMac."

And don't be surprised if the new mom and dad decide on a less traditional name. Rooster named his second son Miller Lyte in honor of his and Matt's favorite beverage.

For now, a simple announcement has been posted on McConaughey's official website: "Congratulations to Matthew and Camila on the birth of their baby boy."
