"Sometimes there are people in your life that you have to cut out. It sucks when it's your own father," declared the young Disney star in Latina magazine.
Demi continued, sounding wiser than most folks give her credit for:
"But I know what's best for me...I have an old soul, because I had to grow up fast, because of the public eye and because of my life experiences," reveals Lovato in Latina.
Sorry, D., but we have to call you out on this one. You're 19 years old, and while you may have had very adult experiences, we can hardly concur you're wallowing in old-age wisdom.
That said, we admire the heck out of your newfound zeal and, maybe, just maybe, you should take a hint from fellow teen princess, Selena Gomez, and date down in age.
Anyways, let's talk something Demi does have lots of knowledge on—being a role model for young women, and our gal opened up to the mag about her fears when she first entered rehab:
"I thought I was going to lose everything when I checked myself into treatment. I didn't know if I would have a career at all when I came home. So it really hit me—I hadn't been grateful. In that sense, I can honestly say I'm glad I hit rock bottom when I did."
All together now: aww. And we're glad you had your a-ha moment at such a young age, Demi! Maybe Young Hollywood should take a hint from the old soul herself.
